HARAMAYA FARMERS’ COOPERATIVE UNION (LTD
Haramaya Farmers Cooperative Union (HFCO) was voluntarily established on december 17, 2000 by 7 primary cooperatives which have 400 members with initial share capital of 490,687.44 Ethiopia birr to solve socio economic problem of members beyond the capacity of primary farmer’s cooperatives.

At present

The number of primary cooperatives affiliated to the Union are 157. which makes the members 125,716 (106,376 males and 19,340females), and the union capital was increased to 349,404,930.87 ETB.

The association to seek market for their product at sustainables pirce and improve their productivity from traditional to modern to meet the needs of their members make them promising and strongly competitive in the free market process.

 Haramaya Farmers’ Cooperative Union is a smallholder farmer-owned cooperative union based in the Eastern Hararghe Zone of Oromia regional State, Ethiopia.

Now the working scope of the union was affiliated in to thirteen districts namely; Kersa, baddannoo , Haramaya, Konbolcha, jarsoo , chelankoo Midhega-Tola and chenaksen Mekenisa-oromo, kurfaa callee, Gola odaa, mayuu mulke Maayaa City districts.

The headquarter of the union was located at Maya City, Haramaya subcity, on the way of Dande Boruu high-school.
