Who We Are
We are a cooperative dedicated to supporting the agricultural community. Our services include the purchase and sale of agricultural products, the supply of agricultural inputs, and the breeding and fattening of dairy farm cattle. We provide fuel supply and distribution services to farmers, as well as animal feed distribution. Additionally, we supply preferred and selected seeds, offer market information services, and conduct research. We are committed to expanding social services and infrastructure while supporting the export and import of various products. We also supply construction materials and industrial products to enhance the agricultural and industrial sectors.

**Haramaya Farmers’ Cooperative Union (HFCO) was founded on December 17, 2000, by 7 primary cooperatives with a total of 400 members and an initial share capital of 490,687.44 Ethiopian Birr. The union was established to address the socio-economic challenges faced by its members, which were beyond the capacity of the individual primary farmer cooperatives. HFCO began its mission with the aim of providing essential products and services, including the purchase and sale of agricultural products, the supply of agricultural inputs, and the fattening and breeding of dairy farm cattle. Over time, it expanded its services to include fuel supply and distribution, animal feed supply, preferred seed supply, market information services, and the export/import of various products. HFCO continues to grow, focusing on enhancing social services, infrastructure, and providing construction and industrial products to benefit its members and the community.
Team
The Union has nine key managements: General Manager, Deputy General Manager, Financial Department Head, Input and Supply Department Head, Plan and Evaluation Department Head, Human Resource Department Head, Farm Service Center Project Head, Seed Multplication Project Head, and Store Head, as well as a general assembly consisting of two representative chairperson and deputy chairperson from each of the one hundred and fifty-one cooperatives. We was voluntarily established on december 17, 2000 by 7 primary cooperatives which have 400 members with initial share capital of 490,687.44 Ethiopia birr to solve socio economic problem of members beyond the capacity of primary farmer’s cooperatives.
