SORGHUM /SORGUM

Sorghum is a cereal plant originating from East Africa. This plant is popular as an alternative food source in Indonesia and other tropical areas. Then, this plant has a high nutritional content and has the potential to be a substitute for rice.

The plant is round, small in size, and slightly brownish in color. This plant can be used as a substitute for wheat. It is towering in height with small fruits gathered at the end of its stem in the field. This plant has a high tolerance to drought and is a suitable choice for growth in tropical areas.

Sorghum Content

Sorghum has a higher protein, fiber, calcium, phosphorus and iron content than rice, as well as lower fat and sugar content.
